hello, i wonder if anyone can help. i have been searching long and hard for a fuel cut off switch in my 1.4 tipo. (l reg) i think this is the cause of my break down any way as i went over a pot hole really heavily and the car cut off. put more petrol in and checked the sparks etc, all ok but

The actual evic message is "fuel cutoff, see handbook", so the procedure for your car might be in your handbook. Alternatively, I believe MultiECUScan can reset it.

My engine didn't start up today, turned over but it woudn't fire up (was driving on empty past few days, then filled up with a tank) someone told to press the cut-off switch, which i did, but now when i try and turn the car on I get fuel leaking from the fuel tank, should this happen?

On the 500, the fuel cutoff is managed by the airbag subsystem, so the message could be an indication that the airbag ECU isn't having a good day, or isn't properly aligned with the other electronic systems.
